Martin Short delays comedy tour ‘The Best of Steve Martin & Martin Short' following death of daughter, Katherine - Reports

Martin Short has stepped away from his current tour with Steve Martin after the devastating loss of his daughter, Katherine Elizabeth Short. Upcoming appearances in Milwaukee and Minneapolis have been put on hold while he takes time to mourn with his family.

Martin Short has postponed several dates on his comedy tour with Steve Martin following the death of his daughter, Katherine Elizabeth Short. The comedian was scheduled to perform on February 27 in Milwaukee and February 28 in Minneapolis.

Those shows will no longer take place as planned as Short mourns the loss of his child.As reported by Deadline, a notice posted on the Miller High Life Theatre website states that the Milwaukee show has been delayed. The venue stated, “Due to unforeseen circumstances, Steve Martin & Martin Short’s show, originally scheduled for Friday, February 27th in Milwaukee, has been postponed.” The notice added, “Tickets will be honored for a future rescheduled date.

Martin Short postpones tour dates after daughter’s death

The postponed performances include one stop in Milwaukee and two shows in Minneapolis on February 28. The tour, titled ‘The Best of Steve Martin & Martin Short,’ has drawn crowds across the country. As of now, the next scheduled date still listed is March 13 at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington DC.News of the postponement comes after the Los Angeles Fire Department responded Monday to a call at a Hollywood Hills home.

The LAPD confirmed the call involved a possible suicide. Shortly after, Katherine’s family confirmed her death.

Martin Short's family statement and background

In a statement shared with People, the family said, “It is with profound grief that we confirm the passing of Katherine Hartley Short.” The statement continued, “The Short family is devastated by this loss and asks for privacy at this time. Katherine was beloved by all and will be remembered for the light and joy she brought into the world.”Martin Short and his late wife Nancy Dolman adopted three children together: Katherine, Oliver, and Henry. Dolman died in 2010 after suffering from ovarian cancer.Short has not made a separate public comment beyond the family’s statement. For now, his focus remains on family as fans await updates on the rescheduled tour dates.
