The Annadanam (food donation) programme organised by the devotees of Pedda Masjid, also known as Pedda Peerla Chavadi, stood out as a symbol of communal harmony, thanks to the unique choice of venue.
On Friday, food was served to the needy in front of the Panchamukha Anjaneya Swami temple at Krishnapuram Thana Junction in Tirupati. The Deen-e-Milad Tahreek Association conducted the event to mark the birth anniversary of the Prophet under the leadership of Sayyed Shafi Ahmed Khadari, the Tirupati Qazi. “The event is meant to celebrate the Prophet’s appearance day by feeding the public, regardless of their faith or religious beliefs,” Khadari said.
Former Deputy Mayor and YSRCP Tirupati constituency in-charge, Bhumana Abhinay Reddy, also participated in the programme, serving food to the public. He lauded the charitable efforts of the Masjid and the festival organisers, emphasising that every religion prioritises real service over mere words.
Even visitors to the Anjaneya temple accepted the food served during the Milad-un-Nabi festivities.
