A fire broke out at an oil manufacturing and processing plant on the southern outskirts of Bengaluru on Sunday, reducing products worth lakhs of rupees to ashes. No casualties were reported.
The private factory produces various types of oils, including transmission oil, industrial gear oil, automotive grease, and more. It is situated along the Chandapur-Dommasandra Road near Heelalige, close to Surya City. The fire was first noticed around 8.00 a.m. on Sunday.
According to a Fire Department official, they received information around 8.20 a.m., and eight fire tenders were immediately dispatched to the site.
“The factory contained a large quantity of inflammable materials, which caused the fire to spread rapidly,” the official said.
Preliminary investigations suggest that a short circuit triggered the fire. However, the police will conduct a detailed investigation and file a fire accident report to determine the exact cause.
