All arrangements are in place for the four-day Machilipatnam Beach Festival, starting today at the Manginapudi beach in Krishna district.
District Collector D.K. Balaji and Superintendent of Police R. Gangadhar Rao visited the venue on Wednesday to inspect and review the arrangements made for water games and sports, including beach Kabaddi, volleyball, and kayaking. They also inspected the various structures, including the 80-foot Amaravati Mukha Dwaram, erected on the beach for the occasion.
The festival will begin in the morning, and sports and games will take place in the afternoon, the Collector said. Medical camps have been set up with necessary medicines; an ambulance and fire engine have been kept on standby.
The highlight of the festival is the national-level kayaking games, which are being held for the first time at the beach festival. In this event, 25 teams from 25 States are participating. Additionally, 20 national teams will compete in the beach kabaddi event, and 12 teams will compete in the State-level volleyball competition.
