A 29-year-old doctor pursuing his MD was found dead on Wednesday (March 4, 2026) in his rented accommodation at Gokuldham Colony in Meerut district.
Giri Prasad, originally from Tiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu, was studying in MD at a private medical college in Meerut and was renting a place in Gokuldham Colony, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Bhavanpur police station.
At 11 a.m. on Wednesday (March 4, 2026), a classmate of Prasad alerted the police that the medical student had been dead in his room.
“We received the information and a police team reached the spot. We have sent the body for postmortem and the family has been informed. The police team is looking at all possible angles in the matter,” reads a statement from the Meerut police.
Police reached the spot, brought down the body and sent it for a post-mortem examination.
