Medical services at TIMS and other Telangana govt hospitals must be offered from inauguration day: Health Minister

Telangana Health Minister C. Damodar Raja Narasimha on Saturday (July 5, 2025) directed that full-fledged medical services must commence from the day of inauguration at all upcoming major government hospitals in the State, including those in Hyderabad and Warangal.

The meeting held in Hyderabad came days after Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced that the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) campuses at Sanathnagar, Alwal and LB Nagar in Hyderabad, a new multi-speciality hospital in Warangal, and the expansion of Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) would be completed by the end of 2025.

Presiding over a meeting with officials from the Health and Roads & Buildings departments in Hyderabad, the Minister emphasised that no delays would be acceptable once the facilities are inaugurated. “From the first day, hospitals should be able to provide quality treatment to people. There must be no gaps between inauguration and service delivery,” he said.

The Health minister reviewed the status of civil works, procurement of medical equipment, and the recruitment of doctors and support staff. He instructed officials to ensure that the new hospitals are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and infrastructure to match the scale of the government’s ambition to strengthen public healthcare.
