The Utah Mammoth thrilled fans today with the debut of their long-awaited mascot, Tusky, in a spectacular pregame reveal at the team’s home opener against the Calgary Flames. Bursting dramatically from a massive block of ice, the 6-foot-5 blue-furred mammoth instantly energized the crowd at Delta Center.

This moment not only celebrated the team’s bold identity but also connected fans to Utah’s prehistoric roots, giving the state’s NHL franchise a mascot that’s impossible to forget.

Tusky the Mammoth: Bringing history and energy to Utah

Tusky embodies more than just fun on the ice. His Mountain Blue fur, Dark Blue mohawk, Salt White tusks, and long blue trunk honor the mammoths that roamed Utah over 10,000 years ago. “We named the Utah Mammoth mascot Tusky to lean into our team’s ‘Tusks Up’ rallying cry,” said team owners Ryan and Ashley Smith.

“Tusky is going to be a big part of our community, creating memorable experiences in and out of the arena. Fans can expect to see Tusky everywhere – from Mammoth games and team events to community gatherings, schools, and hospitals.

We are excited for fans to get to know Tusky this season.”

Tusky’s look perfectly integrates the Mammoth’s black home jersey, reflecting both the team’s identity and local pride. Fans will also notice his color-changing mohawk, adding an ever-evolving, playful twist to his already striking appearance.

Standing tall at 6-foot-5, Tusky may be smaller than the real mammoths that once towered over 14 feet, but his energy and presence on the ice make him a larger-than-life figure for the franchise.

What fans can expect from Tusky this season

Beyond game nights, Tusky will be a visible part of Utah’s community life. From charity events to school visits, fans will see him spreading cheer across the state. He’s also a skilled skater and never misses an opportunity for a prank, promising plenty of laughs along the way. For those who can’t catch him in person, fans can follow Tusky’s adventures online through Instagram, X, and TikTok at @TuskyNHL, enjoying exclusive content and behind-the-scenes moments.

As the Utah Mammoth continue to build traditions in their second season, Tusky stands as a symbol of excitement, community, and the team’s untamed spirit, reminding everyone why hockey in Utah is becoming unforgettable. Also Read: Sidney Crosby reveals the real reason Penguins couldn’t overcome the Ducks despite a strong start to the season
