NEW DELHI: In the latest update on the Meghalaya honeymoon murder case, police on Tuesday recreated the crime scene at Wei Sawdong Falls in Sohra, where Raja Raghuvanshi was killed.A special forensic team arrived at the site to understand exactly how the crime took place. East Khasi Hills SP Vivek Syiem said the reconstruction was successful and gave the police a clearer picture of the events.During the reconstruction, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) visited several locations to trace how the murder was planned and carried out. They began at the parking area where the accused had parked their two-wheelers, then moved to the viewpoint near the waterfall, recreating the scene of who was standing where just before the attack.Officials confirmed that Raja was hit with three blows—first by Vishal, then by Anand, and the final blow by Akash.Police said two machetes were used in the murder. One has been recovered, and a search is ongoing for the second, which the accused claim they threw away. The accused also demonstrated how they threw the weapon. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) is trying to recover the second machete.Investigators also found that Raja's mobile phone was broken—first by Sonam and later it was further damaged by Vishal.The full crime sequence, including how the accused left the scene, was recreated. The key accused: Sonam Raghuvanshi, Raj Kushwaha, Akash, Vishal and Anand were present.
