Meghan Kelly, a former Fox News anchor, made comments about Sydney Sweeney. Kelly implied Sweeney's invitation to Jeff Bezos' wedding was due to her physical attributes. This remark triggered widespread criticism online. Many people called Kelly's statement hateful and misogynistic. Sources claim Sweeney attended the wedding due to her professional relationship with Amazon MGM Studios.
Former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly stirred controversy by suggesting that actress Sydney Sweeney was invited to Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s lavish Venice wedding solely because of her physical appearance.
“Enormous Breasts” comment draws fire
As reported by Page Six, Kelly remarked during the June 30 episode of ‘The Megyn Kelly Show’ that “Sydney Sweeney, the new toast of the town out there, because she’s got these enormous breasts that everybody’s obsessed with—how does she wind up there?” She went on to question the authenticity of the guest list, implying that many attendees were invited for publicity rather than personal connection. She said, “If you told me it was like Lauren Sánchez’s colleagues from the first news station she worked at, sure, that’s normal.
That’s what a true friend would do: invite their lifelong friends. Or Jeff Bezos when he first opened Amazon, yeah, okay, I get it. Even Bill Gates was there—I’ll give him that one, huge fellow tech titan.”
Why was Sydney Sweeney really there?
Despite Kelly’s insinuations, a source told Page Six that Sweeney was invited due to her professional ties with Amazon MGM Studios. She is set to star in an upcoming film adaptation of the video game Split Fiction, directed by Jon M.
Chu. The insider clarified, saying, “She is not friends with either one of them, but came to pay respects to the ‘boss,’ just like in the old days of Hollywood.” Sweeney has not publicly responded to Kelly’s remarks.
Public reaction
The reaction online was swift and scathing. As noted by The Blast, fans flooded social media with criticism, calling Kelly’s remarks “hateful,” “bitter,” and “misogynistic.” One user wrote, “Megyn is a poor excuse for a woman. So desperate for fame and relevance that her brand is attacking and degrading other women.” Another added, “This woman is so pathetic & hateful & so opinionated to everyone. I liked you at first, now not so much.
