Melissa McCarthy wowed fans with her return to Saturday Night Live, showcasing both her signature comedic talent and a noticeably slimmer physique. Her dramatic transformation, highlighted by a stunning black velvet jumpsuit, has sparked widespread admiration and positive reactions on social media, with many praising her 'amazing' and 'fabulous' new look.
Melissa McCarthy returned to Saturday Night Live for the sixth time, and now fans are talking about it for two reasons: her physical comedy and jaw-dropping transformation. On Dec. 6, the Gilmore Girls alum delivered her trademark hilarious performances, and her apparent slimmer physique also sparked conversation on social media.

One X user lauded her transformation and said, ‘I'm really impressed by Melissa's weight loss progress.
’ "I can’t believe how much weight Melissa McCarthy lost," another added. “She's looking fantastic,” another said. “So glad to see Melissa McCarthy back on the SNL stage — and she looks fabulous,” another gushed. Last year, Barbra Streisand faced backlash for commenting on McCarthy's weight loss. After McCarthy shared photos with director Adam Shankman on Instagram from the event honouring choreographer Matthew Bourne, Streisand commented, “Give him my regards — did you take Ozempic?” The since-deleted comment drew backlash for being perceived as invasive and insensitive. Following that, Streisand offered an explanation and said, “OMG — I went on Instagram to see the photos we’d posted of the beautiful flowers I’d received for my birthday! Below them was a photo of my friend Melissa McCarthy, who I sang with on my Encore album. She looked fantastic! I just wanted to pay her a compliment.
I forgot the world was reading!” McCarthy quickly acknowledged Streisand's remarks. When she spoke about facing constant body shaming
"I thought, 'With my tremendous size, I could tackle you so quickly.' There were two cameras on him, and one was on me, and he went back to that question three or four times," she said. The actress added that such questions "happen all the time." Back in 2015, she told CBS Morning that she stopped worrying about weight loss. “I finally said [to myself], 'Oh, for God's sake, stop worrying about it,' and it may be the best thing I've ever done. I truly stopped worrying about [my weight]. I stopped over-analysing, over-thinking, over-doing anything,” she said. "I just stopped constantly being worried about it, and I think there's something to kinda loosening up and not being so nervous and rigid about it that, bizarrely, has worked," she further added.
