The spokesperson for the meme cryptocurrency group claimed that the stunts were not done in an attempt to disrespect the sport, but to grab attention and bypass existing cabal.

A spokesperson behind a cryptocurrency meme coin, Green Dildo Coin, claimed responsibility for the disgraceful act of sex toys thrown on the game floor of WNBA games, thrice in the last couple of weeks.

The spokesperson, however, claimed that the stunts were not done in an attempt to disrespect the sport, but just to grab attention and bypass the existing cabal.

“We didn’t do this because, like, we dislike women’s sports or, like, some of the narratives that are trending right now are ridiculous," USA Today quoted the source.

“We knew that in order to get a voice in the space we had to go out and do some viral stunts to save us from having to pay that influencer cabal, sacrifice our souls and the fate of the project," the spokesperson added.

The spokesperson reportedly added that the group had plans of various other pranks going ahead, but assured that the upcoming ones would be not as vulgar and rather tasteful.

“Moving forward, we have a lot more pranks, but they’re a lot lighter. They’re a lot more tasteful," the unnamed source told USA Today.

A sex toy was thrown onto the court during a game where the Atlanta Dream hosted the Golden State Valkyries on July 29. In the following week, similar incidents occurred at several other games, including another in Atlanta.

The WNBA confirmed that Delbert Carter was arrested in connection with one of the Atlanta incidents. Additionally, on Wednesday, an 18-year-old man was arrested for throwing a sex toy at a Phoenix Mercury game, hitting another fan who was attending with his young niece.

Kaden Lopez, another fan arrested in Phoenix, stated to the Phoenix Police Department that he had seen the trend on social media and decided to buy a sex toy to throw himself.

The WNBA announced on Thursday that it is collaborating with arena personnel to identify the culprits and ensure appropriate action is taken.
