Michael Clarke has skin cancer removed from his nose in latest bout of health struggles - shares photo

Australia's World Cup-winning captain Michael Clarke shared a photo of skin cancer being removed from his nose in the most recent bout of his health struggles.In a social media post, Clarke shared a photo, presumably from the hospital bed or in bed, "Skin cancer is real! Especially in 🇦🇺.

Another one cut out of my nose today. A friendly reminder to get your skin checked.

Prevention is better than cure but in my case, regular check ups and early detection is key. So grateful that @drbishsoliman_ got it early 💙."Clarke had been inititally diagnosed with skin cancer in 2006.In 2019, Clarke was also diagnosed with three non-melanoma lesions. He had then also urged people to take extra care to protect themselves from the sun.

"Another day, another skin cancer cut out of my face... youngsters out there make sure you are doing all the right things to protect yourself from the sun," Clarke had written then.Speaking about his struggles with skin cancer, he had once told The Daily Mail, "I am a dad ... I don’t want to go anywhere. The most important thing in the world is making sure I help my seven-year-old daughter (Kelsey Lee) and I guess set a good example for her.

To me, making sure I am putting sunscreen on so she can see it is not just me getting her to do it, it is dad doing it as well."Clarke, who went by the nickname 'Pup', retired from cricket in 2015 after the Ashes series in England. The right-handed batter led Australia to World Cup glory that same year.The 44-year-old played 115 Tests and 245 ODIs apart from 34 T20Is during his 12-year international career that began in 2003. Clarke scored 8643 runs, including 28 tons in Tests and 7981 runs in ODIs.
