Michael Irvin, the former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver and Hall of Famer, has revealed that he once used his very first $1 million paycheck to improve his dating life. The 58-year-old star shared this story during an appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s popular show “Club Shay Shay,” which was released this week.

On “Club Shay Shay,” Michael Irvin told Shannon Sharpe that when he received his first $1 million check from the Cowboys after being drafted in 1988, he did not take it to the bank right away. Instead, he left it sitting on a table in his room so that women visiting him could see it.“That check, that first million-dollar check, I left that right there on the table,” Irvin said while joking with Shannon Sharpe. He even acted out how women reacted when they noticed the check.

Shannon Sharpe laughed as Michael Irvin pretended to show off.Irvin added that his financial advisors were worried and kept calling him to deposit the money. But at the time, he told them he felt like he was already “winning.”

The Cowboys selected Irvin with the No. 11 overall pick in the 1988 NFL Draft. He became one of the team’s biggest stars during the 1990s, helping Dallas win three Super Bowls in just four years. The family has hired a nurse to provide care at their home. “She, if anybody, has earned the right to be in her home. And no matter what, she will be in her home,” Irvin said during the interview.Michael Irvin played 12 seasons for the Cowboys from 1988 to 1999, finishing with 750 catches, 11,904 yards, and 65 touchdowns.
