GUWAHATI: A suspected blas on the railway tracks disrupted train services near Kokrajhar in Assam’s Alipurduar division of the Northeast Frontier Railway early on Thursday.As per the railway officials, at around 1am, UP Azara goods train reported a heavy jerk while passing between Salakati and Kokrajhar. Upon inspection, railway officials discovered damage to the track and sleepers, indicating a suspected bomb blast.Authorities immediately halted train operations. State police, Railway Protection Force (RPF), and intelligence agencies have launched a probe into the incident.The damaged track was restored by 5.25am, allowing normal train operations to resume. Around eight trains were delayed due to the disruption, and patrolling has been intensified in the section to prevent further incidents.Railway authorities confirmed that no casualties were reported, but the incident has raised concerns over security along this key route.
