The central Milad-un-Nabi procession will be organised on Sunday (September 14) to mark the 1,500th birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad. While the birth anniversary itself is on September 5, the juloos has been moved to a later date for the second time so far as both Milad and Ganesh festivities are coinciding.
The announcement followed a meeting between Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy with AIMIM leaders Asaduddin Owaisi and Akbaruddin Owaisi, senior officials, and members of the Central Milad Procession Committee.
According to committee members, the Chief Minister assured full cooperation and directed that mosques and shrines across the State be illuminated on the day of the procession, with free electricity, provided the committee follows protocol.
The Central Milad Procession Committee was led by Syed Shekhan Ahmed Qadri Shatari Kamil Pasha, Syed Qadir Mohiuddin Qadri Junaid Pasha Zareen Kalah and Hafiz Muhammad Muzaffar Hussain Khan Qadri Banda Nawazi, and will oversee arrangements.
The procession will begin from Mecca Masjid after Zohar prayers and move towards Charminar, Gulzar Houz, Pathergatti, Madina Building, Salar Jung Museum, Darul Shifa, Purani Haveli, Mir Alam Mandi, Etebar Chowk, Kotla Alijah and Bibi Bazaar before concluding at the Volta Hotel crossroads.
The Committee urged that the public across the city maintain discipline and observe the occasion in line with Prophet Muhammad’s teachings. The committee discouraged inappropriate or disorderly conduct. Students from schools, colleges and seminaries will participate with placards to spread the Prophet’s message.
