A police station in Quetta’s Saddar Town area, Pakistan, came under a deadly attack late on Tuesday evening when heavily armed militants opened indiscriminate fire and hurled grenades. The ensuing gun battle left the Station House Officer (SHO) dead in the line of duty.
Multiple police personnel were injured as reinforcements rushed to the scene. The area has been cordoned off, with reports of continued exchange of fire as authorities tried to regain control.
Preliminary reports suggest the involvement of Baloch militant groups. Intelligence agencies across Balochistan have been placed on high alert, and a high-level security meeting is expected amid rising concerns over repeated attacks in Quetta.
