Rajkummar Rao has officially confirmed he will play former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly in his upcoming biopic directed by Vikramaditya Motwane. The film will follow Sourav’s journey and is set to begin shooting by the end of July, with key scenes set in Kolkata and England.
Speculation continues over who will play Dona Ganguly. A source close to the film unit said, “Mimi Chakraborty has been approached to play Dona. Talks are on, but nothing is confirmed yet. Bengali actors will be part of the film to capture the essence of Bengal.” There’s also speculation that Triptii Dimri too has been proposed for the role. The final decision is awaited. Repeated calls to Mimi went unanswered.
