Tribal Welfare, Women and Child Welfare Minister Gummadi Sandhya Rani asked the officials concerned to fill up the vacant posts in the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Department.
Ms. Sandhya Rani on Tuesday visited Srisailam and reviewed the activities of the Child and Women Welfare Department with Collector Rajakumari Ganiya and other officials. She said that of the six ICDS projects in the district, 1,663 anganwadi centres are working, of which 43 are mini-anganwadis. In these, there are vacancies for the posts of two workers, two mini-workers and 40 helpers, she said, and instructed the officials to fill them.
She said that through the Shishu Samrakshana Unit set up in 2024, 157 children had been rescued and women victims were provided counselling, legal aid and medicare through the Sakhi One Stop centres. The Minister stressed that the State government is committed to the welfare of women and child and would modernise anganwadi centres in the State.
