As part of the Vijnana Keralam initiative, a conclave titled Vijnana Alappuzha Skilling Initiative 2025 was held at SD College Golden Jubilee hall on Monday. The event, organised in the run-up to the Skill Summit scheduled to be held in Ernakulam on August 29 and 30, was inaugurated by Fisheries and Culture Minister Saji Cherian.
Group discussions and thematic presentations were held with the participation of representatives from various colleges. Each institution presented the skilling activities undertaken so far and those planned for the future.
Over 200 representatives, including placement officers, Principals and National Service Scheme coordinators, from 75 educational institutions took part. These included 10 professional colleges, 24 arts and science colleges, 11 polytechnics, and 30 ITIs.
As part of the thematic presentations, representatives from the College of Engineering and Management, Punnapra; College of Engineering, Chengannur; Carmel Polytechnic College, Alappuzha; Women’s Polytechnic College, Kayamkulam; Government ITI, Chengannur; Bishop Moore College, Mavelikara; and SD College, Alappuzha; participated.
H. Salam, MLA, presided. Vijnana Kerala advisor T.M. Thomas Isaac, Alappuzha district panchayat president K.G. Rajeshwari, Health and Education standing committee chairperson M.V. Priya and member R. Riyas; and Vijnana Keralam District Mission coordinator C.K. Shibu, academic coordinator Suresh Kumar and others attended the function.
