A fire broke out in the engine of the moving Palace Queen Hamsafar Express train in Bengaluru South district due to a suspected technical snag on Thurday (July 3, 2025) morning. The train connects Mysuru and Udaipur in Rajasthan.

The small fire was noticed by the loco pilot, who stopped the engine before alerting the station. The fire and emergency service personnel rushed to the spot and doused the fire. No one was hurt in the accident, the officials said.

According to officials, at around 11.45 a.m., the pilot noticed a spark in the engine while the express train was crossing Channapattana. The alert loco pilot immediately halted the train and informed the control room.

A team of fire fighters were quickly deployed and with the help of railway officials, the fire was doused. After a short delay, an alternate engine was attached to the train, after which it resumed the journey.
