An undated audio conversation has surfaced in the case of Sonam Raghuvanshi, the Indore woman who went missing with her husband during their honeymoon in Meghalaya. The clip, believed to be her last known communication, featured an exchange between Sonam and her mother-in-law while Sonam was trekking in a forested area.

Sonam and her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, both residents of Madhya Pradesh's Indore, had checked into a homestay at Nongriat village in Meghalaya's East Khasi Hills district on May 22. They checked out the next morning, and have been untraceable since May 23. Raja's body was later recovered from a gorge near Sohra.

In the clip, Sonam is heard saying, "We're climbing right now... will talk later," to which her mother-in-law responded, "Today must be your fast". Sonam replies, "Yes, it is. But I won't break my fast just for this outing". The conversation continued with Sonam expressing discomfort about the steep terrain and poor conditions. "We're in a dense forest, nothing is available here. The climb is steep. I had told him (Raja) not to go, but he never listens. I'm exhausted. The food here isn't good either. It's hard to breathe while walking," Sonam said.

A search operation was launched on May 24 with help from local villagers. On June 3, Raja's body was recovered from a gorge near Sohra. His brother identified him through a tattoo on his right hand that read "Raja". At the site, police also recovered a woman's white shirt, a strip of medicine, parts of a mobile phone screen, and a smartwatch. A case of homicide has been registered.

Search and rescue efforts faced delays due to extreme rainfall and poor visibility on May 30 but resumed after conditions improved. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) joined the operation today. Sonam Raghuvanshi remains untraceable as the search continues.

While the police have ruled out any foul play in Raja's death as the post-mortem reports indicated he died due to a fall.
