Mod Sun talks about split with ex Avril Lavigne, says ‘I hope you’re well’

In 2022, the news of Mod Sun and Avril Lavigne’s engagement went viral across all platforms. Now, years later, after they called it quits in February 2023, the ‘Rich Kids Ruin Everything’ singer is opening up about the two singers going their separate ways and how the experience has been for him.

The news of their relationship first broke out in 2021, when the two collaborated on the song ‘Flames. She had just recently gotten out of a relationship at the time, but had felt a connection with the fellow singer. Now, years later, in an interview with Bunnie Xo for her podcast ‘Dumb Blonde’ and reports by E!, Mod Sun is opening up about the split.He delved into how both of the singers were a great influence on one another, though he has been feeling ‘lost’ for the past few years. He further added on by saying, “We’re two different people, but I think I had a great influence on her. I think she couldn’t have had a more wonderful influence on me from the side of helping me grow up. Like now, I’m very secure in who I am, because I’ve been lost in the last three years of wondering, ‘Where do I fit in?'"He also shares that now he has simply been trying to deal with the feelings that came with the breakup, and that he wishes her nothing but good things.

He has also been leading his life through a lens of empathy, and he also talked about what would happen if he came across her now. He shared that, “But I’m now just like, ‘If I run into you? It’s all love. I hope you’re well."

He added that the singer was a “true talent” to be around, and the two met through some amazing connections when they started working on a project that they loved together. “It was amazing coming up with an idea and seeing someone so fucking talented sing it,” he added on.

In 2023, Mod Sun even released a breakup song titled ‘Strangers’, which featured a music video that had been filmed in Paris. What made this even more significant was the fact that he had initially proposed to the singer in the city of love, and they had gotten engaged there.
