Month-long night-time traffic diversions at Lakdikapul

The Hyderabad Traffic Police has issued an advisory ahead of stormwater drain construction work at Lakdikapul Junction, scheduled to begin on June 11. The work, taken up by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), aims to address long-standing waterlogging in the area and will be carried out only at night between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. for one month.

The timeline may be extended depending on site conditions, said the advisory. The construction will cover a 180-metre stretch from the Intelligence Office to Dwaraka Hotel, passing Lucky Restaurant and Venkateshwara Hotel (Old PS Saifabad Junction). Traffic diversions will be enforced when work is in progress near Dwaraka Hotel.

As per the advisory, Traffic from Nirankari towards Iqbal Minar will be diverted to Ravindra Bharati. Traffic from Ravindra Bharati to Old PS Saifabad will be diverted at Iqbal Minar towards Secretariat Junction. Traffic from Secretariat Junction to Old PS Saifabad will also be diverted at Iqbal Minar towards Ravindra Bharati.

All private travel buses have been asked to avoid Dwaraka Hotel junction after 11 p.m. during the work to prevent congestion.

Commuters are advised to plan accordingly, follow diversion signs, and check for real-time updates on @HYDP (Twitter) and the Hyderabad Traffic Police Facebook page. For assistance during emergencies, the traffic helpline 9010203626 will be operational.

The public has been urged to cooperate with traffic authorities during the construction period.
