HYDERABAD
South Central Railway (SCR) engineering teams have begun to plug the breaches with the water receding to some extent from the flooded tracks on a warfooting, even as about 211 train services were affected, including 128 cancellations, 50 diversions and 28 partial cancellations on Friday.
Official sources informed that though the rainfall has abated, the likelihood of more rains and the rising flood levels could continue to disrupt train services. The sections between Bhiknur-Tadmadla, Akanapet-Medak, Gajwel-Lakudaram, Bolsa-Karkheli railway stations in the Hyderabad division continue to be affected due to the heavy rains.
The officials cautioned passengers to keep track of the changes in train movement on diverted routes if not cancellations in view of the inclement weather and as per the unfolding of the situation on the ground level.
Passengers are being informed through social media and messages about the changes in the train schedules at the time of ticket booking through mobile phones. They have been urged to dial 139 or check railway websites like IRCTC, Railone, NTES, etc, before undertaking any journey.
