Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh met US President Donald Trump in Egypt’s Sharm el-Sheikh on Monday, marking the first high-level interaction between an Indian minister and the US leader since Operation Sindoor.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Gaza peace summit, where Singh is attending as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s special envoy.
The decision to send Singh came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a last-minute invitation on Saturday from US President Donald Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to attend the Sharm el-Sheikh summit.
