Chevella MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday cautioned voters in the Jubilee Hills constituency against what he termed a ‘misinformation campaign’ being spread by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).

Addressing the media at Gandhi Bhavan, Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy alleged that two leaders of BRS were ‘roaming like bullocks in the constituency to mislead the people’. He claimed that the party, which once held sway in Telangana, was now in disarray and desperate to regain relevance after its defeat in the 2023 Assembly elections.

“People had already rejected the BRS and confined its leader to his farmhouse,” he said, adding that the party had slipped to third place in the Cantonment byelection and had drawn a blank in the parliamentary elections.

Accusing BRS leaders of ‘double standards’, the MP said they were speaking like ‘chameleons’ to appease settlers and other sections of voters. He also questioned why the party had fielded Vishnu Vardhan as its nominee for the byelection and alleged that several key positions in the organisation were controlled by one family.

He further criticised former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, questioning whether he had ever raised people’s issues while in the Opposition. “The BRS talks about vote theft, but people should remember who was in power in 2023,” he added. Mr. Reddy also slammed the BRS for their ‘Dandupalyam Batch’ remarks on the State Cabinet.
