MP's Agar Malwa police seize drugs, chemicals worth Rs 5 crore

INDORE: In what police described as the biggest crackdown on narcotics in the district so far, Agar Malwa police on Friday late night seized ketamine, MD drugs, chemicals and laboratory equipment worth more than Rs 5.08 crore and arrested two men.SDOP Motilal Kushwah said that Kotwali police station in-charge Shashi Upadhyay had received a tip-off that two cars — an Ertiga and an Ignis — parked near Ganesh Gaushala on Agar–Barod road were carrying illegal drugs and substances.While one suspect, Rahul Anjana, managed to flee, two others, Ishwar Malviya, 33, and Daulat Singh Anjana, 35, were nabbed. On inspection, the vehicles were found carrying 9.250 kg of ketamine valued at around Rs 4.62 crore, 12.1 kg of ammonium chloride powder, 35 litres of isopropyl alcohol worth Rs 25 lakh, 6 grams of MD drugs, and a range of laboratory equipment including vacuum ovens, magnetic stirrers, and glassware, along with four mobile phones.The cars, together valued at Rs 20 lakh, were also seized.Police registered a case under section 8/22 of the NDPS Act and launched an investigation into the procurement, transport, and supply network of the seized contraband. Officials said more revelations are likely as questioning of the accused progresses.“The cyber and police team is on the field and we will get clarity soon. One of the accused is absconding,” said SP Vinod Singh.

Police sources said that during the investigation, police examined Rahul Anjana’s mobile data and bank transactions from the past two years, which revealed crucial leads. These included details of deals between major suppliers and buyers. Authorities also found unaccounted money transfers and suspicious financial transactions in his accounts.SP Vinod Singh said that Agar Malwa police are committed to eliminating the roots of narcotics trade and added that the team involved in the operation will be rewarded for their commendable work.
