The Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project will have J-Slab ballastless track system based on the Japanese Shinkansen tracks. These will be used for the first time in India, National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) officials said on Wednesday (April 22, 2026). 

This track system, approximately 508-km-long, consists of four main components – RC track bed, cement asphalt mortar (CAM), pre-cast track slab, and rails with fasteners.
