Mumbai nurse killed by lover in Bijnor

Bijnor: A 35-year-old nurse from Mumbai was allegedly strangled to death by her lover and buried in a sugarcane field near Fatehpur Sabhachand village in UP’s Bijnor district after she pressured him to marry her, police said Sunday.

The accused, Faisal Ansari, 29, of Narayanpur village in Bijnor, has been arrested.Police said Faisal worked at a salon in Mumbai’s Anand Nagar area, where he came in contact with the woman while she was employed at a hospital. Their relationship developed over time and, after separating from her husband, the woman allegedly began insisting on marriage.Police added that Faisal returned to his native place around Eid and the woman allegedly followed him. Following an argument over marriage, he allegedly killed her on May 29 before returning to Mumbai.A family member of the deceased lodged a missing complaint in Mumbai on June 2. During the investigation, Faisal was detained and allegedly confessed.Bijnor city circle officer Abhay Kumar Pandey said local police learnt about the matter when a Mumbai police team reached Bijnor on Friday and contacted them.
