Mumbai: A retaining wall and a portion of an adjoining road caved in at a residential complex in Vikhroli West on Wednesday morning, amid overnight heavy rain that has lashed the city over the past 24 hours.The incident was reported at 9.27am, at Suncity Complex near Shyamlal Sohanlal Gupta Chowk on Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR). Officials said a section of the retaining wall gave way, leading to the collapse of part of the adjacent road and also a water line being impacted.Teams from the Mumbai Fire Brigade, Mumbai Police and the local ward office were rushed to the site to secure the area and assess the situation.No injuries were reported in the incident. Authorities had cordoned off the affected stretch as a precaution while a detailed inspection being carried out.Civic officials are expected to evaluate the structural stability of the remaining portion of the wall and road before restoration work begins.
