JAIPUR: An Army jawan was stabbed to death on Sabarmati Express last week after a heated argument with an AC attendant over a blanket turned violent. The victim, Jigar Kumar, was allegedly stabbed to death by attendant Juber Memon (30). Police later arrested the accused and recovered a blood-stained knife from the train. The Government Railway Police (GRP), Bikaner, which is investigating the case, is now facing hurdles in gathering independent eyewitness accounts.Since the incident occurred while the train was in motion and passed through multiple stations before reaching Sabarmati, identifying and locating passengers who were in coach S7 has become a major challenge. “Despite several passengers being present in the coach at the time, no one has come forward to give a statement so far,” a GRP officer said. At present, the Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) is the only key witness to the incident. Police have begun tracing passengers listed in the coach’s reservation chart to determine if anyone witnessed the altercation or heard the commotion leading up to the stabbing.
