Music event in memory of Zakir Hussain to be held in Karnataka’s Shivamogga on August 24

Taal Sangam Academy, a tabla school in Shivamogga, has organised a musical tribute to tabla maestro Ustad Zakir Hussain, scheduled to be held in Shivamogga on Sunday, August 24.

International tabla artist Pandit Ramdas Phalsule of Pune will perform at the programme. The academy will felicitate Mr. Phalsule with the Taal Vibhooshan award on the occasion.

Hindustani classical singer Poornima Vinayak Sagar will also perform on the day. She will be accompanied by Siddesh Badiger on the harmonium and Vinayak Sagar on the tabla.

The programme will be held at the Karnataka Sangha on B.H. Road at 4.30 p.m. on Sunday.The academy has invited all music lovers to attend the event.
