Muslims across Kerala are celebrating Id-ul-Adha, Islam’s second most significant festival, also known as Eid al-Zuha or Bakrid, on Saturday (June 7, 2025)

The festival that falls on the 10th day of Dhul Hijjah, the twelfth and final month of the Islamic lunar calendar, was celebrated on Friday in West Asia and many other countries. In contrast, the festival is being celebrated in Kerala on Saturday.

The mosques in the capital district have made elaborate arrangements for the convenience of the devout to offer their prayers.

Various mosques in the city have set up specially arranged Idgah, where the Muslim religious leaders are leading the prayers and delivering sermons.

Eid prayers and khutbah (sermon) began at 7.30 am at Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium, Palayam, Thiruvananthapuram.
