Isabeau Levito did not leave the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games with a medal, but she left with something that felt just as meaningful. At only 18, the American figure skater turned her Olympic debut into a personal milestone, one filled with curiosity, joy, and memories she clearly was not ready to let go of.
Her final moments there said as much about her as her routines did.The New Jersey native finished 12th overall with 202.80 points, competing alongside fellow Americans Alysa Liu and Amber Glenn. The placement was modest, but it hardly defined her Olympic story. What stood out more was how deeply she embraced the experience itself, long before and long after her skates touched Olympic ice.
Isabeau Levito sparks buzz after revealing unexpected late-night secret inside athletes’ village
Isabeau Levito made sure her final hours in Italy reflected exactly how much the Olympic Village meant to her and how she chose to say goodbye.
On February 23, she shared a TikTok video of herself driving a golf cart through the quiet village in the early morning darkness. The caption read, "How i choose to spend my last hours in the olympic village before leaving for airport (2-4am)." It was playful, a little rebellious, and completely in character.
The clip showed her weaving through cones and racing alongside another cart, laughing her way through those last fleeting moments.
The fun ended when Italian police arrived, but by then, Levito had already created one last memory to carry home. Her affection for the village was clear from the start. In an interview with NBC New York earlier in the Games, she admitted, "I've spent every night in the [Olympic] Village. It's been everything and more. And you can't evict me,". She continued, "I don't think there's anything not to enjoy [about the Olympic Village].
I haven't even gotten to compete yet, and I feel like my experience is already complete. Not complete, but I'm having a blast.
The best time."
Even after competition ended, that feeling stayed with her. She later joked again, “You can’t evict me,” and updated her TikTok bio to read: “You can take Isabeau out of the village, but you cannot take the village out of Isabeau.”Her skating journey began at age three in Mount Laurel, when her mother enrolled her in classes simply to help her balance. Years later, she arrived at the Olympics as one of Team USA’s brightest young talents. The results will evolve. The scores will rise and fall. But this first Olympic chapter gave Levito something harder to measure. She found her place there, even if only for a while.
