In a shocking case of school bullying in Mysuru, a 13-year-old boy suffered a severe injury to his genitals after being assaulted by three of his classmates on the school premises, police said.

According to the complaint filed by the boy’s family, the Class 8 student had been subjected to repeated harassment over the past several years. The accused students allegedly forced him to bring cash and mobile phones to school, which they would then take away.

On October 25, the harassment turned violent when the three boys allegedly dragged him into the washroom and assaulted him. The victim was later taken to a hospital, where doctors confirmed serious injuries to his private parts.

The boy’s family has accused the local police of initially hesitating to file a case, but said that an FIR was registered after sustained pressure from relatives and well-wishers.

The Jayalakshmipuram Police have since booked the three accused students under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita related to voluntarily causing hurt and acts endangering life or personal safety, as well as sections of the Juvenile Justice Act.

Speaking to the media, the victim said the bullying had been ongoing since he was in Class 4. “It started when I was made class leader and told to report anyone who misbehaved. When I did that, they beat me up. My mother complained to the teacher, but she didn’t take any action," he said.

Describing the most recent attack, the boy said, “Two of them held my hands, and one of them kicked me in my privates twice."

The incident has sparked outrage among parents and child-rights groups, who have demanded stricter enforcement of anti-bullying policies in schools and accountability for school authorities who fail to protect students from prolonged harassment.

Police said the investigation is ongoing, and statements from the school staff and classmates are being recorded.
