Members of the Karnataka State ASHA Workers’ Association, Mysuru district committee, met Minister in charge of the district H.C. Mahadevappa here on Friday, urging him to speak to the Chief Minister to increase their monthly honorarium to ₹10,000, including the incentive announced by the Centre, with effect from April 1, 2025.
They also demanded a hike of ₹1,000 to all ASHA workers, similar to the increase announced for anganwadi and mid-day meal workers in this year’s Budget.
The members handed over a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister, seeking the Minister’s intervention to fulfil their demands.
The association urged the government to issue an order providing an honorarium of ₹10,000 per month, and an additional hike of ₹2,000 for those working in urban areas.
They also sought a retirement aid of ₹5 lakh for ASHA workers upon retirement at the age of 60, similar to the provision made in West Bengal.
