Mysuru train services affected due to derailment and fire in Chennai division

Train services to and from Mysuru was affected on Sunday, consequent to a major derailment of a loaded BTPN (Bogie Tank Wagon) rake near Tiruvallur in Chennai Division.

The wagons, carrying petroleum, caught fire after the derailment. As a result, the Southern Railway had to cancel a few trains.

This included the services of Train No. 20607 — MGR Chennai Central-Mysuru Vande Bharat Express and Train No. 12007 — MGR Chennai Central-Mysuru Shatabdi Express. 

Moreover, Train No. 22625 and Train No. 12639 between Chennai Central and KSR Bengaluru, were cancelled. Services of Train No. 20608 and Train No. 12008 between Mysuru and Chennai Central were also cancelled.
