TDP national president and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday extended the party’s support to C.P. Radhakrishnan, the NDA’s Vice-Presidential candidate.

On the second day of his visit to Delhi, Mr. Naidu accompanied by his party MPs and Ministers in the Union Cabinet called on Mr. Radhakrishnan and extended his full support to him ahead of the polls.

Speaking to the media later, Mr. Naidu expressed his happiness over Mr. Radhakrishnan’s selection as the NDA’s candidate for the post of Vice-President.

“He is the best suitable candidate. We are very happy to extend our support to him. TDP joined the NDA before the elections. Both in Delhi and Andhra Pradesh we have an NDA government,” Mr. Naidu said.

The TDP chief said Mr. Radhakrishnan is a patriotic leader and that he is going to bring pride to the nation.

With the INDI Alliance pitching retired Supreme Court judge Justice B. Sudershan Reddy, a Telugu person, as its candidate, and the Congress asking parties from the Telugu States to support him, Mr. Naidu said Telugu pride won’t be a matter in this case.

TDP Parliamentary Party leader Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayulu and Union Ministers Rammohan Naidu, Pemmasani Chandrashekhar and other MPs were part of the delegation that met Mr. Radhakrishnan.

Earlier, Mr. Naidu along with State Finance Minister Payyavula Kesav, Mr. Rammohan Naidu, and Mr. Krishna Devarayalu, met the Chairman of the 16th Finance Commission Arvind Panagariya, at Vyapar Bhavan.

Mr. Srikrishna Devarayulu posted on ‘X’ that they called on the Chairman to discuss Andhra Pradesh’s rightful share of revenue. The Commission’s recommendations will play a crucial role in ensuring equitable devolution of resources for the State’s development, he said.
