Uttarakhand SDRF rescues 15 injured passengers after Tempo traveller plunges

NEW DELHI: A Tempo Traveller carrying 18 passengers crashed into a gorge near Jyolikot's Aam Padav area in Nainital district, Uttarakhand, late on November 1, resulting in two deaths and multiple injuries.

The vehicle fell approximately 15 meters off the road.The Uttarakhand State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) conducted a late-night rescue operation after receiving information from the District Disaster Management, Nainital, according to PTI.A rescue team headed by Sub-Inspector Manish Bhakuni was dispatched to the accident site immediately.Upon reaching the location, rescuers found the vehicle 15 meters below the road.

The SDRF team successfully evacuated 15 injured passengers and transported them to Haldwani Hospital for medical treatment.Two passengers were declared dead at the scene, and their bodies were transferred to local police custody.Search operations are currently in progress to locate one missing passenger from the vehicle.Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident to determine the cause of the accident.
