As part of the birth anniversary celebrations of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar, a pioneer of Karnataka’s development and the ruler of Mysore, special public welfare initiatives will be held in Mysuru on Wednesday.
Addressing a press conference, Mysuru MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar said that grocery kits will be distributed to 3,500 civic workers in recognition of their contributions to maintaining the city’s cleanliness, which was given a top priority during the reign of Nalwadi Wadiyar. The distribution will take place at Maharaja’s College Grounds at 12.15 p.m.
“The event is non-political and has been organised by admirers of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar. It is a secular, community-focused initiative aimed at public welfare,” the MP said.
Mr. Yaduveer said Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar made remarkable contributions not only to Mysuru but to the entire State. This celebration is a tribute to his enduring legacy, he said.
A public function is scheduled at Maharaja’s College, while a mass ‘annadanam’ (community meal) will be organised to serve food to nearly 50,000 people in Mysuru. The initiative is supported by local volunteer groups and Wadiyar’s followers.
