Minister for Education Nara Lokesh formally launched what is touted to be India’s advanced smart kitchen in Kadapa district that serves tasty and nutritious meal for 1787 students every day.
Mr. Lokesh reached the Zilla Parishat High School at Chintakommadinne here on Tuesday (September 02), where he formally inaugurated the facility under Dokka Seethamma Midday Meal Scheme.
In all, he opened five such smart kitchens, one in Kadapa, two in Kamalapuram and two in Jammalamadugu constituencies, which will collectively cook food and serve the same to 10,323 students of 136 schools delivered through specially operated vehicles.
The Minister also announced to take the number of smart kitchens in the district to 33 in eleven mandals by December, which will be able to provide sumptuous meal every day to 1.24 lakh children across Kadapa district.
At Pendlimarri, Mr. Lokesh inaugurated a model degree college, which was developed with government funds to the tune of ₹12 crore sanctioned from RUSA. He also declared open the administrative building constructed under PM-USHA.
During an interactive session with the students later, Mr. Lokesh sought their suggestions in improving the higher education sector and in improving academic standards. He called students’ participation as an essential component in nation building.
“My aim is to enhance the academic atmosphere in the State and make it the best in the country in the next four years,” he announced.
At Yogi Vemana University (YVU) campus, he laid the foundation stone for the auditorium building planned at an outlay of ₹10.05 lakh.
