Armed men attempted a robbery at a jewellery shop in Nashik, firing shots and injuring one person, police imposed citywide checkpoints and launched a probe to catch the suspects.

An attempted armed robbery at a jewellery shop in Maharashtra’s Nashik district triggered panic on Saturday after a group of unidentified assailants opened fire and injured one person before fleeing the scene.
The incident took place in the Panchavati area on Hirawadi Road at Samruddhi Jewellers, where 5–6 men reportedly arrived on two motorcycles and entered the shop with the intention of carrying out a robbery.
According to initial reports, the accused were armed and threatened people inside the store. During the attack, gunshots were fired, and one person was assaulted with the butt of a firearm, leaving him injured.
The victim was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Doctors said his condition is currently stable.
CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced, showing the suspects entering the jewellery shop while carrying weapons. The group allegedly executed the attack within minutes before escaping.

Following the incident, officials from Panchavati Police Station, senior officers and a large police contingent reached the spot. A forensic team has also begun collecting evidence from the scene.
Police have launched an investigation and are scanning CCTV footage to identify the accused. A citywide nakabandi (security checkpoint operation) has been imposed, with multiple teams deployed to trace and arrest the suspects.
Authorities said efforts are underway to nab those involved and assured that the accused would be arrested soon.
