The Indian Navy will host the 7th edition of the Indo-Pacific Regional Dialogue (IPRD) 2025, its annual apex-level international conference on maritime strategy, diplomacy, and cooperation, from October 28 to 30 at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi.
The event is being organised in partnership with the National Maritime Foundation (NMF) as the Navy’s Knowledge Partner.
The IPRD 2025 is being held under the overarching maritime vision of MAHASAGAR (Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions), reflecting India’s commitment to a free, open, inclusive, and rules-based Indo-Pacific. The three-day dialogue will focus on key themes including capacity-building and capability-enhancement, maritime security and strategic coordination, blue economy, climate resilience, disaster preparedness, technology, connectivity, and future infrastructure.
In a video message welcoming delegates from over 30 countries, Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), underscored the significance of the Dialogue as a vital forum for fostering collaboration and strengthening regional capacity. “Together, let’s build a safer, stronger and more prosperous maritime order,” he said, highlighting the Navy’s role in promoting collective maritime growth and security.
Tuesday’s opening session themed on ‘Cooperative Capacity-building and Capability-enhancement to Address Security Impacts of Climate Change,’ features prominent international speakers including Dr. Iqbal Singh Sevea (National University of Singapore), Mr. Hideshi Tokuchi (Research Institute for Peace and Security, Japan), First Admiral Salim (Indonesia Naval Command and Staff College), Mr. David Willima (Institute for Security Studies, South Africa), and Mr. Badirujjaman Bodi (Bangladesh Institute of Maritime Research and Development).
The IPRD 2025, which is India’s premier platform for maritime dialogue, aims to strengthen multilateral cooperation, promote regional stability, and advance the shared vision of a resilient and prosperous Indo-Pacific.
