Magic Johnson says all eyes on Tyrese Haliburton and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
It is going to be exciting. Magic Johnson took to X, where he said, “The Pacers vs. OKC Series will be a lot closer than people think! It’ll be a truly exciting series because both the Pacers and the Thunder average well over 100 points per game (ppg) ranking 2nd and 3rd for ppg in the NBA respectively while still being two of the best defensive teams in basketball.”
Further, Johnson said, in another post, “You have the NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and in my opinion, the MVP throughout the entire Western Conference Playoffs on one side. On the other side we have - Tyrese Haliburton, who in my opinion, was Eastern Conference MVP throughout the entire Playoffs. This will be an all-time great point guard matchup!”
The teams are excited, so are the fans and the team managers. Oklahoma City Thunders coach Mark Daigneault said, “I think this finals is a great representation with the two teams that are in it, You know, they’re teams that play good, exciting styles of basketball.
Players that have great individual stories, teams that have a great story collectively. And we’re proud to be a part of that.”Meanwhile, Indiana Pacers’ Tyrese Haliburton said what fans can expect, “I think (they’ll see) two high-level teams that play an elite style of basketball, who share the ball really well, and a lot of different people that can chip in.”Haliburton said, “I think that’s the exciting part about this.
I don’t want to say it’s like a passing of the torch because the old heads are still here.”“They’re still playing very, very well. But definitely to see two young teams, two young organizations, fighting to win a championship, I think is a very big deal,” Haliburton added.
