 'May they last forever'

Shaquille O’Neal says “can’t wait” for Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s wedding.

When Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and pop superstar Taylor Swift announced their engagement through a joint Instagram post on August 26, NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal said he learned about it just like everyone else – via social media.

“I heard about it on the net, like everybody else, social media.

I saw it, but a lot of times you can’t really believe it, so I reached out to a few people, and they said, ‘Yeah, it’s true,’ so it’s awesome. Can’t wait.”O’Neal, who knows Kelce personally but has only met Swift once at the 2024 Super Bowl, added, “I’m happy for him. I know Travis personally,” before offering his heartfelt wish for the couple, “Listen, I’m all for it.

May they last forever.”

Looking ahead to ESPN and reflecting on a peaceful offseason

As the new NBA season approaches, O’Neal prepares for his move to ESPN amid a laid-back summer he described as both simple and fulfilling. “Just being able to see people smile and have a good time. I don’t really do much. I’ve had a lot of great shows and done a lot of great commercials... so I’m happy.”

Away from sports, O’Neal is branching into the candy world with Shaq‑A‑Licious Gummies, pieces shaped like his sneakers and infused with his trademark swagger.

“I got some new ones coming out. It’s going to be an all‑new sneaker shape, an iteration of all my iconic Shaq footwear sneakers that I’ve sold. They come in three great flavors that I’ve tasted myself: mango, orange, lime green, and strawberry pomegranate, and I’m excited about it.

Shaquille jokes about life before fame – and the everyday struggles his size once brought

Known for his towering presence, O’Neal also reflects humorously on the everyday hurdles he faced before fame made everything bigger – including himself.

“I could never sit in coach. I always have to beg people for the exit seats. I couldn’t fit in doorways. I couldn’t have the freshest clothes or the freshest sneakers that everybody had, and number one, no girl looked at me in high school,” he says with a laugh. Also read: 'I felt like garbage': Travis Kelce takes full blame after brutal collision knocked Kansas City Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy out in Brazil gameTravis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s engagement has taken over both the NFL world and pop culture.
