The San Antonio Spurs stormed back from a 19-point deficit to beat the Portland Trail Blazers 114-93 and take a 3-1 lead in their playoff series on Sunday.
Victor Wembanyama marked his ’emotional’ return from a concussion with a dominant all-round display of 27 points, 11 rebounds, seven blocks, four steals and three assists.
But, Wemby also stated he was “unhappy" with how aspects of the concussion protocol were handled.
De’Aaron Fox added 28 points as the Spurs overwhelmed Portland in the second half, outscoring them 73-35 to move within one win of the Western Conference semi-finals.
For the Blazers, Deni Avdija (26) and Jrue Holiday (20) led the scoring, but Portland’s offense faded after halftime.
Raptors Level Series
The Toronto Raptors edged the Cleveland Cavaliers 93-89 to tie their Eastern Conference series 2-2.
Scottie Barnes and Brandon Ingram scored 23 points each, with Barnes adding nine rebounds and six assists.
The Raptors closed the game on a 9-0 run, overturning a late deficit. Donovan Mitchell (20) and James Harden (19) led Cleveland, but missed chances late proved costly.
Celtics Close In
The Boston Celtics beat the Philadelphia 76ers 128-96 to take a 3-1 series lead.
Joel Embiid returned just 17 days after an appendectomy and posted 26 points and 10 rebounds, but the Sixers couldn’t keep up.
Boston had already set the tone in the series with a 32-point Game 1 win. Philadelphia responded in Game 2, but the Celtics regained control in Games 3 and 4, with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown stepping up at key moments.
With Game 5 approaching, both the Spurs and Celtics are now one win away from advancing.
