It was a night of statement wins across the NBA as the Warriors locked down the Clippers, the Thunder kept rolling, and the Sixers escaped in overtime to stay unbeaten.
Warriors Clamp Down on Clippers
Jimmy Butler dropped 21 points, Stephen Curry added 19 and eight assists, and the Golden State Warriors cruised past the Los Angeles Clippers 98-79 on Tuesday night.
Curry, who shot 7-for-15, didn’t crack 20 points, just the sixth time in 17 seasons he’s missed that mark in a Warriors win. Still, Golden State’s balance did the trick.
Butler and Moses Moody drained late-third-quarter threes to fuel a 10-2 run that gave the Dubs a 78-63 cushion heading into the fourth.
Brandin Podziemski stayed hot with 12 points after his 23-point explosion against Memphis, while Quinten Post chipped in 12 on four triples and eight rebounds.
James Harden scored all 20 of his points in the first half, and Kawhi Leonard added 18 for a cold-shooting Clippers squad that went just 6-for-33 from deep. Los Angeles’ seven-game win streak over Golden State? Gone.
Thunder Keep Flying High
Over in Sacramento, the reigning champion Oklahoma City Thunder improved to 5-0, rallying to beat the Kings 107-101 behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s 31-point night.
SGA took over late — scoring nine in the fourth — while Aaron Wiggins and Ajay Mitchell added 18 apiece. “We did what it took to win," SGA said coolly postgame.
Maxey, Sixers Outlast Wizards in OT Thriller
The Philadelphia 76ers erased a 19-point deficit to beat Washington 139-134 in overtime, staying a perfect 4-0.
Tyrese Maxey starred again with 39 points and 10 assists, while Joel Embiid added 25 before sitting out OT. Rookie Adem Bona sealed it with a clutch put-back and four blocks down the stretch.
Elsewhere: Giannis Goes Beast Mode
In Milwaukee, Giannis Antetokounmpo erupted for 37-8-7 as the Bucks rallied to top the Knicks 121-111, spoiling Jalen Brunson’s 36-point night.
