The Golden State Warriors established an early lead and held on to defeat the short-handed Phoenix Suns 118-107 on Tuesday night as Stephen Curry scored 28 points, including five 3-pointers, while Moses Moody came off the bench to add 24 points with five 3s.

Devin Booker achieved a season-high 38 points, making all 11 of his free throws. Mark Williams contributed 16 points and a season-best 16 rebounds, and Grayson Allen also scored 16 points for the Suns, who were missing Dillon Brooks and Jalen Green due to injuries. The Suns trailed 68-49 at halftime but rallied with a 20-6 run at the end of the third quarter, closing the gap to 92-83.

Quinten Post added 14 points with four 3-pointers and six rebounds for Golden State, while Brandin Podziemski scored 13 points and Buddy Hield added 12.

This balanced performance was welcome for the Warriors, who had recently played seven games across five cities in 12 days and have another game in Sacramento on Wednesday. Coach Steve Kerr announced that Curry would sit out against the Kings due to a worsening cold.

The Warriors remain undefeated at home with a 4-0 record, while the Suns suffered their fourth consecutive road loss to start the season.

Jimmy Butler was questionable due to lower back soreness but started the game after completing his warmup. He contributed to an early 11-0 run for Golden State, who led 33-19 after the first quarter, making 7 of 11 3-pointers. However, Butler did not return for the second half, finishing with two points on 1-for-5 shooting in 14 minutes. Kerr mentioned Butler would be questionable again for Wednesday’s game.

Al Horford sat out the front end of the back-to-back as the Warriors manage his left toe injury.
