Need to create student-friendly environment in colleges highlighted

M.P. Nagamma, Deputy Director, Department of Pre-University Education, Mysuru, has emphasised the need to create a strong academic system and a student-friendly environment in colleges.

Speaking at a meeting of principals of government, aided, and unaided PU colleges of the district held at Government Maharaja PU College on Thursday, she directed all principals to strictly follow departmental guidelines.

Ms. Nagamma also gave instructions regarding SATS, examinations, marks entry, and the organisation of cultural and sports activities.

Highlighting the district’s responsibility to host the State-level Girls’ Athletics Meet this year, she called upon the cooperation of all institutions to ensure its success.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Shivaraj said that a mega job fair will be held on September 6, and urged principals to register their senior students for the event so that eligible unemployed youth and students can benefit from the opportunities on offer.

Hanumanth Rao, Principals’ Association president; Satyaprasad and Chandrashekar, vice-presidents; Vishakantha Murthy, secretary; Rame Gowda, treasurer; C.R. Dinesh, principal of Nodal College, Nanjangud; and all nodal college principals of the district were present.

On the academic front, N.M. Vijayendra Kumar, Nodal Officer for Government Science Colleges, detailed the rules for conducting online CET classes, while INSPIRE-MANAK Nodal Officer Ravishankar explained the UDISE registration process.
