Jharkhand will hold the NEET-UG re-examination on Sunday under tight security at 67 centres. CCTV cameras, mobile jammers and area restrictions underline efforts to ensure a fair test.

All 67 examination centres for the NEET-UG re-examination in Jharkhand on Sunday will be under CCTV surveillance, with mobile signal jammers installed as part of the security arrangements, a senior police officer said. More than 30,000 students are expected to appear for the test in the state.
The examination will be held from 2 pm to 5.15 pm across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. Candidates with disabilities eligible for compensatory time will be allowed to write till 6.20 pm. Candidates have been asked to report to their examination centres between 11 am and 1.30 pm.
In Ranchi, the examination will be conducted at 21 centres. The district administration has imposed prohibitory orders under Section 163 within a 200-metre radius of the centres across the state capital, an official said. The order will be in force from 12 noon to 8 pm on Sunday. Gathering of five or more people, except government officials, government events and funeral processions, and holding public meetings have been banned near the centres. Carrying firearms, lathis, bows and arrows, sharp-edged weapons, and using loudspeakers have also been prohibited during the period.
In Jamshedpur, the examination will be held at eight centres, with around 4,200 students expected to appear. Jamshedpur Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Ranjan said, "All preparations to conduct free and fair examination have been put in place. After proper screening, the examination centres were sanitised. Proper security arrangements have been ensured, such as deploying CCTV cameras and mobile signal jammers."
In Bokaro, around 2,800 students will appear at eight centres. Bokaro Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha said security has been put in place in multiple layers to ensure a free and fair examination. The administration is also carrying out checks at hotels and lodges in the city. He said CCTV coverage has been ensured at all examination centres.
An elaborate security arrangement has also been made in Hazaribag, where the examination will be held at nine centres. Hazaribag Sadar SDO AK Pandey has imposed prohibitory orders under Section 163 within a 200-metre radius of the centres, banning the assembly of five or more persons and the carrying of firearms. Hazaribag SDPO Rupak Singh said police have checked a dozen hotels in Hazaribag and nearby areas as a precaution to find out whether any suspected group had assembled there.
Overall, the re-examination in Jharkhand will be held under tight security, with CCTV monitoring, mobile signal jammers, restrictions around centres and checks in hotels and lodges in several districts as more than 30,000 students appear for the test on Sunday.
